What is passion?

And how important is it if you want to succeed?

Some define it as a strong feeling or emotion - a trait of being intensely emotional intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.

It´s really about having a BURNING DESIRE for something - to learn a skill, to find the ideal partner, to start a business, to help other people..

If you want you life to flow seek out what you´ passionate about.

Finding your purpose in lifeHow To Find Your Purpose In Life

Included in  The 5 Steps To Master Your Life Program is an e-book with detailed information about how you can find your purpose in life.

It talks about how important it is to come from passion if you want to change your life for the better.

We are all unique and the uniqueness that is you can best be expressed when you connect to your heart and your passion.

When you are passionate about what you do and what you create, you are living your life on purpose because passion = purpose.

When you love what you do with all your heart you are one with your Higher Self. When you fall in love with an idea it becomes your passion. It´s the Devine Operation expressing itself through you.

Thomas Troward: My mind is a center of Divine operation

Thomas TrowardThomas Troward (1847-1916)

You are creating for yourself and for others. Your burning desire will benefit everyone since you love it so much.

It´s an expression from the inner world like Thomas Troward so beautifully put it in his The Dore Lectures on Mental Science.

It starts off with: My mind is a center of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression...

Read the whole paragraph here and learn what it means: Divine Operation

Caught up in the Rat Race

Way too many people are caught up in the so-called Rat Race. Always busy with work and family - trying to make ends meet. No time to reflect on life itself - let alone what true passion means.

I say this from experience. I was in the rat race. I was  going on autopilot doing what I was supposed to do - what was expected of me. It went on for years and work took most of my time.

However, I eventually managed to change it all after almost dying at one point.  I stopped and paused. I started to think and reflect on my life. was I being TRUE TO MYSELF? I wasn´t.

In these moment of reflecting and silence I discovered my true passion. I ended up quitting my job. I was scary, but I have never looked back. Never regretted.

Most of us are brought up to believe that we should go to school, study hard, find suitable work and then work hard until we retire.

And the idea is that as a retired person you have the freedom to do whatever you want when you want it.

However, none of us have a contract to live forever. Some people die before they reach retirement age.

Others loose their health during the rat race. And some even loose appetite for life because the rat race it all too much.

calming the mind: go within to find your passion

Why aren't we being encouraged to find out what we truly love to do early on in life?

Why aren´t parents, guardians, schoolteachers and society in general encouraging us to go inside and listen to our inner thoughts and feelings?

Instead we are being told to secure our lives. Choose "a safe" education so you can make a living. The most common recipe for this "security" is to go to school, get an education which will lead to a secure job. And off we go to the rat race.

Do you love your work? Most people don´t. Research shows the the majority of people around the world are noe engaged in their work. There´s no passion. They might like or think their work is OK, but OK or liking something is not burning desire. It´s not passion.

The worlds leading survey company, Gallup, has been tracking employee engagement since 2000.

Worldwide, only 13% of employees working for an organization are engaged.

Gallup says the world has an employee engagement crisis, with serious and potentially lasting repercussions for the global economy.

No wonder - people are not coming from passion - from their hearts. They´re not listening to the inner voice. They haven´t been taught how to do it.

Instead they´re letting the intellect and the ego rule the path their on - the rat race path.

We shouldn´t go to work to earn money. We should go because we love it.

Unfortunately, most people don´t love their work. They do it for the money - to pay off the mortgages, to pay the bills, to support their families.

It´s understandable because most people were not told to follow their passion. No encouragement to listen to their intuition and their dreams.

If you asked people if they really would like to do something else than what they´re currently doing what would be their answer? If answering truthfully most would say yes.

Just ask colleagues where you work.

If they won 10 millions dollars in the lottery would they still be working at the same place having the same job and doing the same work? Setting the alarm clock for an early rise to go to work? To go to a job they really don´t have to go to anymore?

I do belive we all come here to create from our heart - to live out our uniqueness - our purpose in life. Some people find their passion early on. They just feel deep inside that they must follow what they truly love doing no matter what. It´s the right thing to do as Steve Jobs found out.

Steve jobs and passion

Steve JobsSteve Jobs (1955-2011)

In 2005 Steve Jobs held a great speech at Commencement Day at Stanford University.

Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, he urged graduates to pursue their dreams...

In his speech he is sharing with three stories from his life. His key message is:

Follow your curiosity, your intuition, your heart - your dreams..and trust that it will work out.

In the video-clip below Jobs is talking about trust:

You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma whatever..because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well worn path - and that will make all the difference.

google founder Larry Page and dreams

Larry PageLarry Page

Another very successful person who followed his dream and his passion is Google founder Larry Page.

May 2nd 2009 he held a powerful speech at the Commencement Day at University of Michigan.

In the video below you will hear him talk about grabbing those great dreams that come to you. Here the transcript:

"You know what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night with a vivid dream?

And you know how, if you don't have a pencil and pad by the bed to write it down, it will be completely gone the next morning?

Well, I had one of those dreams when I was 23. When I suddenly woke up, I was thinking: what if we could download the whole web, and just keep the links and......

I grabbed a pen and started writing! Sometimes it is important to wake up and stop dreaming. I spent the middle of that night scribbling out the details and convincing myself it would work.

Soon after, I told my advisor, Terry Winograd, it would take a couple of weeks to download the web - he nodded knowingly, fully aware it would take much longer, but wise enough to not tell me.

The optimism of youth is often underrated! Amazingly, I had no thought of building a search engine. The idea wasn't even on the radar.

But, much later we happened upon a better way of ranking webpages to make a really great search engine, and Google was born. When a really great dream shows up, grab it!

passion - an important success ingredient

People with passion succeed because they love what they do. They thinking all the time. It´s part of them - day and night - it´s who they are. Thoughts create our reailty, but not a random thought every now and then.

Thoughts must be repeated over and over again and if you´re passionate about what you do and want it becomes automatic. You start thinkling success thoughts on autopilot. And that´s what successful people do.

And since their passionate they are persistent. They never quit. They have the DESIRE, the PERSISTENCE and they also TAKE ACTION because they love what they do.

They are creating for themselves and for others. And this is what´s being on this planet is all about. It´s about sharing your uniqueness with the world just like the Make A Ripple e-book will show you.

We are ALL special and unique

No-one can think and feel just like you. You have uniqueness within and when you tap into that uniqueness you´ll start to shine.

Do you think that people like Oprah, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, J.K. Rowling, Larry Page and all other successful people are special? Do they have something you don't have? Are they more gifted? Or  more talented than you?

No. We are ALL special - we are ALL unique. The only difference is that these people have tapped into their light.

They changed their thinking. They really wanted to share their dreams and ideas with the world. They have passion. They are persistence. They take action. They say to themselves: I CAN and so can you.

Famous Authors Who never Quit

J.K. Rowling, Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield and Alex HaleyFamous authors: J.K. Rowling, Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield and Alex Haley

We would never have been introduced to the world of Harry Potter if J.K.Rowling had not been filled with passion, persistence and action to publish her first book. The story goes that she (and her agent) went to 14 publishing companies before the first book was published.

She didn´t give up even though she was turned down time after time. She kept at it believing that her book deserved being published and in the end it was. She´s been able to share her unique stories with the world and as a bonus she is now one of the richest women in the UK.

She was never in it for the money. She just wanted to do what she was passionate about - writing.

Like Rowling author of the book and TV-series Roots, Alex Haley, received many rejection before he became successful. He received a staggering 200 rejections, but never quit. He kept going to a new publisher after each rejection. He was persistence and had an inner drive to never give up.

Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen started in 1993 with a simple idea: that people could help each other by sharing stories about their lives. It ended up becoming a book called the Chicken Soup For The Soul.

It became a hige success, but not over night. They had to go to 173 different publisher before it became published.

For every rejection they kept on going saying to themselves that their book needed to be shared with the world because it made a difference in peoples lives. They never gave up.

The Chicken Soup for the Soul book series of over 250 titles has sold more than 110 million copies in the U.S. and Canada.

The book series has been translated into 43 languages, published in over 100 countries, and have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide.

There are thousands of success stories like the ones of Rowling, Haley, Canfield and Hansen.

People who soared to new heights and reached their goals. You can do it too.

Find your PASSION, KEEP at it and TAKE ACTION.

We have a dream inside ourselves, A gift to us at birth,
To guide us and protect us,
On our journey on this earth.
We all have something special, Each one of us unique,
You have to find the courage,
To find the peace you seek.
So dream your dream and live your dream,
Don't be afraid to try,
Just take your soul by the hand, and let your spirit fly
